Exploratory study of health plans and health insurance in Brazil between 2000 and 2015 and financialization. It reviews selected texts from the field of Collective Health on the meanings related to social, public and private on health care in light of the notion of public / private articulation in care. It is taken as a hypothesis of work on the new level of development of the commercial scheme of healthcare intermediation in Brazil between 2000 and 2015 as one of the expressions of financialization within the health system. It reviews the approaches on financialization and elaborates methodological notes for the study of economic groups operating in the trade of health plans and health insurance in Brazil between 2000 and 2015 from the original formulations of José Carlos de Souza Braga. It presents selection of documentary data and interviews with businessmen. It analyzes the data presented exploring the limits and possibilities of new theoretical and methodological developments in a prospective view on the health system as a whole. The comparison of data with selected dimensions of the objective function (Fo) developed by Braga (2016) for financialization in companies validates the thesis of financialization as an approach for the study of the trade scheme of health care intermediation in Brazil and defines it as a new object with qualitative and quantitative characteristics different from those established by the seminal health policy studies until the 1990s. The economic agents involved now have a growing arbitrage power, capable of creating markets and market niches for products and services and influencing valuation and devaluation of assets of diverse nature including, in the case of assistance, strategic inputs of public relevance.
